Route Manager

Route Manager allows viewing routes as a whole instead of on a per-stop basis.

  • Routes > Route Manager

To View a Route

1. 'Select Route' drop down menu will list all routes. When changing a route to view, select 'Refresh'.Ā

2. To display the route on the map, click "Update Map Pins" on the right side. The Map will generate pins when it finds an active geocode for each address. If any addresses are not geocoded, continue to the 'Map' section of this article for more information about Geocoding.

Sequence

Sequencing tells Accu-Trax which order the routes should appear in. Sequence numbers can be edited using a few methods:

  • Individually update sequence numbers by Double-Clicking the 'New Seq' grey box next to the current 'Seq' and enter a new value.
  • Quickly swap route stop sequence by highlighting a stop and selecting the 'Move Down' or 'Move Up buttons.
  • For editing large groups of route stops, click the 'Edit Route' tab and follow the steps listed below.

To Edit a Route

1. Select the "Edit" tab. This will bring up a window just like the one below.

2. There are three ways to move or respace the route stops:

Respace Sequence: By default, the initial stop will start at 0 ('Initial Seq') and the spacing between each route stop is by 10. This allows for up to 9 new stops to be sequenced between each stop, but a larger number can be chosen as well. The default route stops would be sequenced as 0, 10, 20, 30 etc., and new stops could be inserted as 0,Ā 5,Ā 7, 10,Ā 12,Ā 15, 20, etc.Ā
Selecting 'Respace' will automatically respace all sequenced stops by the chosen interval (10 by default). In the example where we inserted route stops as sequence 5, 7, 12, and 15, the seven total route stops would move from 0, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 20 to 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60.

Move Group: The 'Move Group' function will migrate route stops based on their sequence numbers. 'From Seq' and 'To Seq' acts as the window for selected route stops. 'Insert At' determines where these new route stops should be moved to. 'Spacing' will respace the route stops accordingly, once migrated to their new sequence destination.Ā

Move Selected: On the left-hand pane where all the route stops are listed, hand select the preferred stops to migrate by highlighting the desired stops (either drag the mouse to select in sequence or use CTRL + Left Click to select route stops in any order) then entering an 'Insert At' sequence value and select 'Move Selected'.

Ā
NOTE:Ā The ability to save changes as a worksheet has been added and will look like the image below. The option will appear automatically when clicking 'Save Changes'.

Map

Display the selected route on the map by clicking 'Update Map Pin' on the right side.

Ā

  • The map will generate pins when it finds an active geocode for each address.
    • If any addresses are not geocoded, select Tools > Auto Geocode. Individual stops can be Geocoded by right-clicking the desired route stop and selecting 'Change Geocode'.

  • Once all stops are geocoded, the route map will display the pins as shown below.
    • This visualization can help determine how efficient a route is and which stops should be edited to better streamline the entire route.
Ā

  • 'Start Group Select' will allow the user to select route stops using their map pins on the map itself.
  • 'Start Sequence Select' will allow the user to edit the sequence of these stops on the map itself.
    • The two above features act similarly to the 'Edit Route' tab, but allow selections using the Map view.
  • 'Show Route' will open the 'Display Route Stops' menu.
    • This menu will play a visual representation of how the truck will travel along the route with the current sequencing of stops.
    • Highlight specific stops to view sections of an entire route separately.Ā

Route Comparison

This tab allows the user to select two routes to compare in a side-by-side view where route stops can be easily transferred in several ways.

Move SingleĀ

Move a single stop between routes by highlighting the route stop and selecting 'Move to this Route'.
Select a sequence number to specify where along the route this new stop should be placed.
Move Group From _____

To move a group of stops between routes, click the 'Move Group From ____' tab and enter the sequence numbers at the beginning and end of the group, the starting sequence point for the routes to be inserted at, and select 'Move Group'.

i.e. The image below would move route stops from the Red Route with sequences 100-140, insert these five stops at the 0 sequence point on the Blue Route, and space all five stops by increments of 10 (0, 10, 20, 30, 40) and move all subsequent Blue Route stops by 10 (50, 60, 70 etc).

Customer Information

This tab displays information about the customer that is currently receiving service at that address, including the customer's Mailing Address and a summary of all services for that Customer.

Worksheet

Worksheet allows the user to view all changes where Route Stops were moved from one Route to another.

  • Undo changes made by selecting 'Undo Last' or 'Undo All'.
  • Save the changes to an external document or load a previously saved document of changes using the 'Save' and 'Load' buttons.
